Sydney Sheldon's ' Rage of Angels '

Rage of the Angels tells us the story of a successful criminal lawyer Jennifer Parker and the 2 men in her life..One can feel the pain and anguish of Jennifer parker , in this brilliantly written story made into film.The romance portrayed has a lot of depth and is very touching .I personally like this particular story above all his other writings. I wanted to see the film having read and liked the novel a lot. The story is powerful and Sydney Sheldon was at his best at that time of his career when he came up with some of his best works..

Story~~~~It is the story of constant struggle by Jennifer Parker to survive in the big bad city of New York despite all odds..She is a strong woman determined to succeed.Two men come into her Life..Adam, a lawyer and a would be Politician/Leader who helps her with her career in the beginning and then gets romantically involved with her in spite of being already married, Jennifer Parker has his son , but decides to move out of his life because she doesnt want to mess up his thriving political career, and the other man who comes into her life is Michael Moretti a powerful underworld don , with whom she gets involved out of compulsion. But she realises that she has to fight her own battles .

The portrayal of a strong woman, and the circumstances and the twists and turns that lead her life to unknown depths and the impending tragedy makes it a powerful portrayal.It is the kind of story that any strong self made woman can easily identify with and most women sympathise with.Jennifer Parker comes across as a strong but a very sensitive and understanding person who gets a raw deal in life.However she rises above all the tragedies and comes out even stronger and an understanding woman..Brilliant portrayal of a sensitive woman very ably presented by Jacklyn Smith, who looks ravishing in the film.

This book was made into the TV film in 1983 with Sydney Sheldon co producing it .Jacklyn Smith playing the lead role of Jennifer Parker and a heavy set , ungainly Ken Howard playing the role of Adam. In my opinion Ken Howard was a bad choice . I would have preferred someone a little smarter, trimmer and more intellectual looking for the role of Adam.It is painful watching a slow moving Ken Howard romancing with a glowing and beautiful Jacklyn Smith.

Armand Assante as Moretti is alright, but his role is not fully developed in the film. He has comparitively a smaller role , but he suits the role of that of an Italian Don. The other roes are relatively smaller and dont carry much weight since most of the story revolves around Jennifer..The film was very successful because of the book, which was one of the earliest and most successful novels of Sydney Sheldon.The movie is well made with an excellent performance by Jacklyn Smith and some good outdoor shots.The film is long at three hours plus.But it is absorbing so does not bore the viewers.It is a good film with a good strong story and a good suspense and above all a Fabulous looking Jacklyn Smith.You can watch it once definitely
